Dr. Ravish Patwardhan views research and development as an amalgam of numerous parts: (1) Education; (2) Research Projects; (3) Innovation; and (4) Clinical Trials.  Some of the first steps in development involve education.  Subsequently, properly designing research projects, and testing whether the scientific hypothesis will hold, are important as well.  Innovation, brought about by absolute necessity or other inspiration, can lead to improved lives.  Clinical trials, properly designed, allow the ability to test (with appropriate disclosure) the hypothesis per project, according to Dr. Ravish Patwardhan.
